Member of UBCP, ACTRA and Canadian Actors Equity Originally from Vancouver, Suzanne Ouellette trained and danced with some of the worlds finest ballet companies from Germany’s Stuttgart Ballet to Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet, London England’s Dance Centre to Pacific Ballet Theatre (Ballet B.C.)
She was Ballet Mistress / Rehearsal director for Ballet BC for 5 years and is the founding director of Ballet B.C.’s Mentor Program under Artistic Director John Alleyne. She has worked as rehearsal director for James Kudelka, Paul Taylor (Ruth Andrien), Jean Grand Maitre, Reid Anderson, Simone Orlando, Josh Beamish and Jennifer Mascall to name a few.
Suzanne has also performed as a lead dancer, singer and actress in professional musicals with the Vancouver Playhouse, Calgary’s Stage West’s “Nunsense”, and several productions for TUTS, MUSSOC and Winnipeg’s Rainbow Stage. She has guest taught and adjudicated ballet as well as musical theatre all across Canada for schools and professional companies.
A creative, innovative and very well respected choreographer, she has set many award winning dance pieces for students as well as CBC TV specials, Columbia Pictures Promos, Fashion shows for hair and clothing designers, dance programs for Canada’s Olympic skaters, UBC Opera Department’s productions, Vancouver Opera Galas, Richmond Gateway Theatre musicals, Royal City Musicals, as well as feature films for Showtime and numerous TV Series for the Fox Network, all are among her extensive TV/FILM credits.
Her most recent work includes dancing on the CW series ” IZombie”, choreographer for Royal City musicals “My Fair Lady, the ballet advisor on “Billy Elliot” for the Arts Club theatre and choreographer for Richmond Gateways “The Music Man” which she won the 2016 Ovation award for Most Outstanding choreographer.
Suzanne’s passion, enthusiasm, and extensive background in many facets of the performing arts, make her in great demand as a teacher, choreographer, rehearsal director and adjudicator.
