Julianne Chapple has presented her choreography at 12 Minutes Max, BC Buds Spring Arts Fair, Drift Arts Festival, SWARM Art Walk (Vancouver), 60X60 Dance (Montreal) and Nah Dran (Berlin). She has collaborated with several artist and musicians of varying genres and has a keen interest in interdisciplinary work. She has spent the past year expanding her movement vocabulary and artistic practice by training and presenting in Europe. She was awarded an artistic residency in Toffia, Italy April/May of 2012 where she created a new solo piece that was later premiered in Germany. Julie has trained with Wen Wei Wang, Sarah Chase and Ron Stewart through the Cultch's Ignite program, Tiffany Tregarthen and David Raymond through their program Modus Operandi and most recently was awarded a scholarship to attend the Tipperary Dance Lab in Ireland, to train with Christian Ubl, Jazmin Chiodi and Alexandre Iseli. As a dancer, Julie has worked withCompaigni V'ni Dansi, Random Acts of Circus, Meredith Kalaman, Yvonne Maestre Schmidt and LINKdance. Most recently, she was one of six choreographers chosen to participate in the Co:Lab project at the ScotiaBank Dance Centre in Vancouver. Julianne would like to thank The Landing Dance Centre for their generous support of her latest endeavour 'Hand/Held'. This ensemble piece explores the ways in which technology is changing communication in our daily lives and how we relate to the space around us.
